Electrical problem
2000 GMC Sonoma 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 172000 miles

just the other day my headlights, parkinglights, taillights, and dashlights powered on without the car running. The car was parked and the keys were out of the ignition. The only way to get them to turn off was to disconnect the battery. We recently had alot of snow and ice the past two weeks. I drive 114 miles roundtrip to work. I think there is some sort of electrical short. Has anyone ever heard of this type of situation before and if so what is the solution?

I take it this truck has auto-headlamps? Could be a problem with the BCM triggering the relay for the headlights. If it does it again, test the headlight realy gary wire for ground. If it has it, check the same wire on the back of light switch for ground.
