Welcome to the forum, is the coil in the cap? If it is, check for primary voltage to the coil/cap, pink wire, goes hot when you turn on the key. There may be a tachometer terminal on the cap, may/may not have anything plugged into it. Use a test-light at the terminal, light should pulse, engine cranking? One end of test-light touch to tachometer terminal, other ground at engine block.
