1983 Other GMC Models Front Wheel Drive Automatic

We have a fleetwood Motorhome and noticed that the tail lights stay on after the engine is turned off. My husband recently took out the alternator to take it in to see if it was bad because we were having batteries problems. It turned out it was fine and with a good over the night charge the engine started right up. Well that is when we noticed the tail lights staying on. Do you think not grounding the alternator correctly is causing the problem or maybe the tail lights were the problem all along draining the batteries when not noticed for a long period of time. Where do we start on fixing this problem so it does not take a whole lot of trips fixing the wrong things. Help-We want to go camping over the fourth!

Do you
have the same problem?

You've probbly already got it fixed but the lights staying on drains the battery. It could be a number of things causing that take it to a pro let them fix it.
