THE FUEL PUMP HAS GONE BAD, WOULD THIS CAUSE THE CPU TO GET FRIED, OR WOULD IT TAKE A DIRECT SHORT TO FRY THE CPU? I'M ASKING FOR MY WIFES FRIEND, I TOLD HER I DID NOT THINK A BAD FUEL PUMP WOULD FRY THE CPU THAT SOMETHING MUST HAVE SHORTED THE CIRCUIT. SO AM I RIGHT OR IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE FUEL PUMP BY ITSELF TO FRY THE CPU?

Replace the fuel pump. See if it starts.

The pcm controls the ground side of the circuit. Never assume a failed computer till it can be confirmed
