So I went to change the fuel filter on this truck and it looks as though the last guy to change it used the wrong filter as there is no gap between the filter and the line to get the line removal tool in there. There is room for a Flathead screwdriver or a hacksaw blade. Should I just cut it out and use the tool to pull the male end of the filter out of the fuel line.

It has a sock on the fuel pump but that is not considered a filter.

The fuel filter is inside the left frame rail, just behind the driver.

It has one serviceable fuel filter located on the left hand side frame. The second one is a screen in the fuel take which is part of the fuel pump assembly.

Underneath the vehicle, down the frame. Follow the steel fuel lines from the front to the back, going to the fuel tank you'll see it. It should be on the left side.

You will need a tool that you will push up into the line to release the clips then just pull the line off. First pic is the tool the second it how you use it. If you need any more help let me know.

Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual

I recently bought a 1995 F 150 4+4 and drove it for about 7 months and never had a problem until last night I drove home got back in to leave and the engine just turned and turned it wouldnt start. Take note that this truck has two tanks and the back tank has never worked I have always drove it on the front tank. So I changed the fuel filter in the front tank and it drove but was jerking and it finally wont drive at all it will start and idle but when you press the gas it acts like its not getting any fuel. I also changed the fuel filter about 5 months ago.

First thing im going to have you do is get a fuel pressure check guage and check the fuel pressure with vehicle cranking, when its running and idling, and when you push on the gas.

Get back to me.

How in the world does a person get their hand in between the frame and fuel filter to get the fuel filter off the vehicle. My son is so frustrated because he has released one end of the fuel filter, but cannot get the other end. We have the recommended tool but it does not seem to be an easy release. The fuel line is stuck in place in the filter and you cannot get your hand in the position necessary to get the filter released from the lines.

Is there not a clamp on the fuel filter that way you can unhook it then move the line to a easier place?

I have never had a problem with a fuel filter on a vehicle like his.

Try disconnecting the line further back at the tank and then you can move the whole line over to whever you need it to go to get at it.

Follow the lines from the tank to the engien is the best way I can tell you to find it.

But I will tell you it probably isnt the fuel filter if you ran out of fuel you probably nuked the pump and it will have to be replaced.

A pump is cooled by gas and when there is no gas to cool it it burns up from the demand of pressure but no gas to supply to cool it.

Under vehicle, driver side, below bed area, front of fuel tank, mounted on chassis in fuel line.

Hope this helps.

It should be under the cab up against the chassis on the inside. Driver's side. It's just clipped in place. The new filter should come with new hose locks.

It should be along the fuel rail under the truck. Check the driver's side first.

LEt me know if you still can't find it.
