2001 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles
The passenger side differential bearing in the transaxle appears to be failing. With both wheels elevated vehicle running in drive, stopping the drivers wheel is okay, stopping the passenger wheel results in significant vibration felt through 1/2 shaft and half shaft coupler next to transmission wobbling (even though it is not rotating). Suspect transaxle bearing is gone. Can feel gritty internal vibration when holding passenger hub from spinning.
Question. Can transaxle bearing and seal be replaced without transmission dissassembly while in vehicle?
have the same problem?
