I tried turning the key from off to run several times. I did not get a odometer reading but the airbag light would go out about for about 5 seconds and come back on. Also I could tell if the fuse was bad in the interior fuses but I couldn't tell if the one under the hood fuse 120 was bad. I pulled out a couple of them and they all looked the same.

Sounds like a blend door or blend door motor. These are both available at most parts stores and as for replacing depends on how comfortable you are with doing automotive repairs. If you like I can walk you through somewhat. Here is a pic of the door and the motor.

Our heater has quit working in the front, but still partially works in the back. It is warm but not hot. The front only blows extremely cold air. The heater core is working. What are the possible causes. Thank you for your time.

Check the coolant level-disconnect the heater hoses and inspect for clogging-also the heater core use the garden hose trick and reverse flush it. Might want to replace the thermostat-good investment.

Need more help don't hesitate to ask-you don't ask -you'll will never know.

Rear heat works fine cold air blows out of top(defroster) and out of reg vents when heat is on. Was toldto flush lines. Not sure what they mean how do you flush them with air or water?Do you think this will work or might it be something else. Doesnt make any noises.

U can do that but check the blend door actuator
its job to close door and open between the hot and cool air

Heater problem
2001 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

Greetings,

My 2001 Windstar just started this thing where as long as you have your foot on the gas driving the heater works great, come to a red light, and bam instantly blows cold air. Start driving again, gets hot again. Put it in park, goes cold instantly. I know with the old muscle cars I build you'd just change the thermostat and it's fixed, does the same hold true with these newer vehicles? Or is there something else wrong? Thanks for your help.

Did you find out the answer? I'm thinking vacuum but I know the hot/cold control is electric. Possibly a vacuum signal controling that though.

I need to fix it soon!

Thanks

Let try and work on the heat 1st
if you open the hood and locate heater hoses by the firewall
check if both hot
if both hot suspect and check blend door and actuator
if one hot and one warm or cold
heater core need to flushed
you can access the self diagnose and check for codes
check hoses 1st and let me know
