Yes I checked that, as well as making sure that the dc motor in the actuator was good itself.

You seemed to think it was the actuator? Not sure what else to tell you? The blower motor works? Any applicable hvac codes? The heater core is hot with fully warmed up engine? I can't think of anything else?

I assumed it was actuator because of heat in the rear and clicking noise behind radio. At normal operating temp the hoses to heater core are warm. As far as codes in running it out tomorrow to get checked. The check engine light was already on due to ofc valve that I also replaced, however computer didn't have time to reset yet. Thanks for the help, if you think of anything else I would appreciate it. I'm stumped on this one, thought for sure the actuator would have fixed it.

With engine running and at operating temp heater fan motor on high open hood and check heater hoses by the firewall
if both hot you have a blend door issue
if one warm or hot and other not heater core need to be flushed
isolate heater core and flush
let me kno

Again this would need to be check as above if hoses hot and no heat inside its blend system inside under the dash and that could be two possibilities
a blend door $$$$$
or blend door actuator

Ok so tell me what have you checked so far? Do you have a digital mutli meter to do some testing if needed? Get back to me and we will go from there.

OK - upon further inspection, I realized that there is not a FUSE in the under-the-hood fuse box for an A/C Clutch Diode. Could this be causing the problem?

OK not sure yet need to ask a couple of more questions. Is this manual a/c or automatic with climate control? I am sure that is dual a/c being that you say the rear works fine but the front don't. Get back to me with that so I can look over the system and see what controls what. I am thinking maybe blend door or blend door motor but cant be sure yet.

Heater problem
2000 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100000 miles

My heater is not working, I took it to the shop and they want 700.00 to repair. My father in law is an older mechanic so we can repair, but the the dash is not easy to remove. According to the shop, I need a heater core. We need to do this ourselves once we get into it. My father-in-law works on the older models, therefore, he's not sure about removing the dash either. Any help would be appreciated.

I checked the box and it works along with the shaft rotates in both hot and cold positions. I looked where the shaft goes into the duct and there is nothing there for it to move. Could it be that the mechanism to move the door or the door itself is broke? I look forward to reading your reply.

THank you

Make sure the coolant is full, the engine is running at operating temp, and the thermostat is good. If that is all good, flush the entire cooling system including the heater core (reverse flush the heater core too).

I own a 2000 ford windstar v6 with about 176,000 km. The heater quit working in the spring but it wasn't a big deal because it was warm out. Recently we replaced the thermostat trying to repair it. It partially worked because now I have heat in the back of the van. Problem is there's no heat coming out in the front. Any suggestions as to why and how to fix it.
