Electrical problem
1998 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles

One day after driving for about 3 hours, I stop to pick up gas. The car would not turn over. The lights were working but, it wouldn't start. I proceeded to push the car. Shortly after pushing the car it then started. I would have to push the car a few feet in order for it to start. I tried this a few times and it worked. 2 days ago the pushing no longer works. I asked for a jump because at this point I thought it was the battery. I then went and bought a brand new battery. It seemed to fix the problem. The next day I went out and the car will not turn over. Is it the battery? Is it the alternator or could it be the starter? Could it be something else?

Does it crank normally or no crank? If no crank, check the starter lug on the heavy cable.
