Engine Performance problem
1998 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 147000 miles
My wife has a 1998 Ford Windstar LX. She recently had a check engine code pop up. P1537. I replaced the (actuator) on the front side. The valve would stay open. Well we thought it was fixed and the next day she is driving and all the sudden it won't go. She said that she can only get it to go about 20 mph, and after a while then it wont go at all. She has to come to complete stop to be able to make it go forward again. It sounds like a Tranny prob, but I'm not convinced. It ran fine before I changed the acuator. I ran codes again (code was erased after repair) and it shot me same code again P1537. The van will operate in all gears and it will go forward. Apparently its doing something after it reaches a certain RPM maybe. Just doesnt want to shift or keep moving. Im not very mechanically intelligent but I try. There isnt any tranny fluid leaking and the fluid is full. Is it possible theres a sensor out or the actuator I replaced is causing this problem. Please help me with some insight.
have the same problem?
