My friend keeps asking me for rides and I wish he would just fix his car instead! He says he's tried everythiing but can't figure it out. Maybe you can help? Here's the problem:
It's a Ford Thunderbird (1987 I think) with an automatic transmission that won't shift out of first gear. He says it " gets all gears" but when he drives it, it just stays in first. He has changed the fluid (several times) and has " dropped" the transmission and checked the selonoid, etc. He's tried overriding the computer's " limp" mode, checked all the fuses, etc, etc, etc. He doesn't have a code reader because it is an older modle car and we can't afford to buy one.
Any suggestions? I sure would appreciate any help on this. - Thanks. : |
