My friend keeps asking me for rides and I wish he would just fix his car instead! He says he's tried everythiing but can't figure it out. Maybe you can help? Here's the problem:
It's a Ford Thunderbird (1987 I think) with an automatic transmission that won't shift out of first gear. He says it "gets all gears" but when he drives it, it just stays in first. He has changed the fluid (several times) and has "dropped" the transmission and checked the selonoid, etc. He's tried overriding the computer's "limp" mode, checked all the fuses, etc, etc, etc. He doesn't have a code reader because it is an older modle car and we can't afford to buy one.
Any suggestions? I sure would appreciate any help on this. - Thanks. :|
