I have a 96 T-BIRD LX 4.6 Car is completly stock w/110K miles. The car takes approx. Anywhere from 2 minutes to 25 minutes to start. What I mean is that when the ignition is turned to the starting position, the car will just turn over and never catch. While this is happening, the fan will "RUN". Once the car is happy and wants to start, the fan stops, the "Check Engine" light will flash and with a turn of the key, the engine will turn right over. The car will not start until the fan stops running and you see the check eng. Light flash. Ford has checked and gone completely through the fuel sys. And says it is fully functional and get's pressure. There is something going on that is temp. Related. The colder it is outside, i've noticed the longer the wait period until the fan stops and the check eng. Light flashes before the car starts. The hotter is is out, the shorter the period. Last item. I can unplug the battery for a period, the computer will reset itself and I can immediatly start the car while the computer is resetting itself without the wait? I'm Baffled and so is FORD!
have the same problem?
