Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 133, 00 miles

This problem is random but sometimes when I put the car in park it will rev up to over 2000 rpm or more if I don't cut it off. Have had it to the mechanic numerous times and it never seems to do this for them and they can't find anything wrong. I have also had to replace the speed sensor about 3 times. Each time this thing goes out the car acts differently. Just don't know what this is. May not ever buy another ford product again. Too many problems.

Clean out the idle air control valve and also the MAF sensor with an electronic cleaner and test the throttle position sensor
