I had the car out of service for about a month. When I tried to start it, the battery had gone bad. I replaced the battery, and now the car starts and a couple of seconds later shuts down. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then connecting and restarting. But it continues to start and then shut itself back off.

Disconnecting the battery causes the computer to lose it memories it probably needs to relearn its idle speed

This one has had a dozen opportunities to learn how to idle. It starts right up, then shuts right down within 2 seconds. If I gas it, it will rev up, but still shut down within 2 seconds.

Inspect and test the idle air control valve, EGR valve, MAF and TPS sensors-to include the fuel pressure
