1990 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 219000 miles
the radiator fan isnt coming on automatically when the temperature rises to more than halfway on the temperature guage, the way its supposed to. But when I pull the plug off the temperature sensor, the fan comes on and stays on til I put the plug back on. Then the fan turns off. This is a 219,000 mile engine, and I want it to be able to cool itself on its own. Im thinking of installing my own manual toggle switch to operate the fan when I see that the temp is too high on the guage. I cant afford to have this engine overheat and be damaged beyond repair.
ive already replaced the temperature sensor and the thermostat.
could it be the problem is in the engine electrical control module?
have the same problem?
