Cold Start

I just recently purchased a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab that has 122,000 miles on it, The Ranger has been well taken care of and serviced. The owner said the only problem he has experienced with it is he believes he got hold of some bad gasoline. When you first start it in the mornings after it has cooled down it seems to act like a cold start vehicle. Once it is cranked and runs a short period of time it is fine. He said the only thing he has done is put fuel additive in the gasoline each time he filled it up. What could cause this cold start problem? It seems to idle ruff at cold start, Then smoothes out. Any suggestions would be "Greatly" appreiciated.

Thank You
