I have a 2005 ranger with a 3.0. It stalls at random, sometimes it starts right back up and goes sometimes it does not. I almost thought it was a ignition module but with this late model it is distributorless and operates on the coil pack. When it did start I revved the motor up and noticed it was missing at 3000+ rpms. Almost like a rev limiter. So I drove it back to the house and it would run over the 3000+ rpms no problem put it in neutral and same thing it would miss on anything over 3000+ rpms. I change the plugs, wires, coil pack and same thing. I scanned the computer and no codes new or in the history. Any idea? I know people have had problems with the crank angle sensors on these motors. I just dont want to chase a bunch of dead ends.
