2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 96. Miles
The engine runs rough, then clears up. Have replaced high tension spark plug wires, rotor, dist. Cap, check vacuum air lines for security, etc. Mechanic has suggested that maybe a head is cracked, hasn't offered to do a compression check.
Have a nephew with a 2000 Ranger, 230000 miles, had almost identical drivability issues - turned out to be loose intake manifold bolts!
Do you have a history of this problem, and any visuals that I could print out to carry with me?
