Replacement engine when warm starts missing?

I just put another 3.0 in my truck. It starts up and runs great until it starts to warm up the it starts to miss and actually gets way too much gas, I had to change the plugs in it. But also I had to unplug the mass air flow sensor, it wouldn't even start with that plugged in.
Any Ideas?

Make sure that the mass airflow sensor is not contaminated. You can clean it out with either brake clean or the special cleaner that they sell at the auto parts store. Also be sure to transfer the original fuel rail to the new engine as the injectors can be different from certain year models, I’ve actually fixed a few for that issue. Another issue that I have seen is that the cam synchro gets out of sync. They make a special tool for it but if your scanner will do a power balance test you can align the synchro by pulling #1 plug wire and turning it until it shows as a miss on #1 on your screen.

I cleaned the MAF sensor plugged it back in and the truck starts up and shuts down in about a half second.
I unplug the MAF and it starts and runs until it starts to warm up, then it starts to flood out.

If I can jump in here. I have seen the engine coolant temperature sensor short out causing the PCM to go rich. This condition may or may not create a trouble code. Here is a guide to help walk you through the the steps and diagrams below to show you how on your car:

That sensor is brand new and the wire has voltage to it. I have a pretty good idea that the MAF sensor is bad cause when you plug it in the truck wont start and when its not plugged in the truck runs but blows a lot of black smoke and fouls out the plugs

Engine Performance problem
2000 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

The truck miss fires only at a stop, and its every so often. I have changed my intake gasket, pvc, plugs. I plugged off my pvc with a bolt for a minute aand the code changed to being to rich. And still miss firing and burning lean. And also there is a code that comes up as monitor miss fire fault.(I think thats what it said.) I dont want to go and spend a hole lot of money pn o2 sensors if I dont have to so could you please help

Should scan for codes
codes should point to troubled area or help in pin pointing to what is happening and put you on the write track to fix and correct the problem

Transmission problem
2000 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, I am currently having problems with my trans on my 2000 ranger. When I start driving it seems fine, but after it warms up the trans will start to skip and the OD light will start to flash. I tried doing a fluid and filter change on the trans, and I switched out all the sensors in the base of the trans, but that didn't change anything, then I changed the speed sensor on top of the pumpkin in the rear, the problem actually got worse when I did that, it would go into "hobble mode" so I put the old sensor back in and it's back to the old skipping. It seems to skip more when going up hills. I am just about out of ideas except for maybe the trans control solenoid or changing out the trans entirely. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To take the guessing out of it, have the PCM scanned for trouble codes. That is what the blinking OD light is telling you, it sees a problem. It should have a trouble code stored in memory that will lead to the root of the problem

Engine misses occationally at startup, when accellerating, and when crusing. Tach sometimes reads zero, but not always when problem occurs. Replaced wires, spark plugs, and air filter. Problem cleared up for 2 weeks, but is getting worse now.
Gas mileage hasn't changed.

Engine Performance problem

Engine misses at Idle and low RPM (<10 mph). Once moving 2000 RPM miss seems to stop, but returns when idleing down.

Ford change intake manifold gasket at $$00.00 plus and miss came back.

Local Mechanic said the computer under the dask was bad and ordered one from Ford for 700.00. Ford didn't know how to program so we cancelled order.

Ford had problems with fuel injectors that would effect the idle. Unfortunately there is no easy way of testing them for that problem. You may have to replace them.

I replaced the #1 injector lastnight and it didn't fix the problem the computer, every time the engine light comes on tells me its bank 1. But it could be another injector and it would show up in codes?

Replaced injectors and started engine ran smooth, then stated popping and condensation coming out tail pipe and very ruff idle. Did start looking into it very deep yet, but narrowed the misfire on four, five and six? Unhooked harness to replace valve cover gaskets thanking one of the injectors is shorted and I unhooked battery during the time. I replaced everything do I need to reset the computer.
