Engine Performance problem
1996 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
dad has a 1996 4 cylinder ford ranger 100,000 + miles.
start truck and idle is pretty much ok. Warm up and idle becomes irratic. All over the place. He has fixed all vaccum leaks. Changed camshaft sensor checked all timing marks. All are on the mark. Truck wont go over 60 with pedal to the floor. Has no catalystic converter. Someone took it off prior to him getting truck.
with hood up you can rev motor up and it will bog down. Sounds like its coming from the air fliter. Bad bog down. Has also changed Master flow sensor. Still same thing.
he is at his ends witts with this truck. He even took it to a shop. They said it was wiring. They said it was the throttle sensor. They hooked it up and fixed that. Still same thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your interest
