My 95 probe with 130000 miles with the 2.5. I just purchased this car knowing it had a problem I just cant find it. It cranks and idles very smooth and has no out of the ordinary sounds but as soon as you rev the engine quickly it wants to cut out like it is starving for fuel. Now if you advance the throttle very slowly it will rev out with no problems. It is easier to do this with your hands on the throttle linkage. It has just had a complete tune up and the previous owner had it at the local ford dealer and they check compression, fuel pressure, and most of the common sensors and found no problems. He had them stop work on it when they wanted to hook it up to the breakout board. I am going to change the fuel filter this week and see if that helps. I did notice that if you take the oil fill cap off while the engine is running the car will slowly die. I am not sure if this is common on these engines or not. I cannot find any vaccume leaks including the brake booster and inside car controls. I did find a VAM locally and replaced it and it had no effect on the problem. I am lost! Thanks for your help.
