I'm trying to help a buddy out with his 89 Ford Probe with the 2.2L engine, don't know the milage but i'm shure it's a ways over 100,000. He's needing to replace the water pump since it's leaking supposively and is haveing trouble removeing the lower half of the plastic timing cover, and says it's rapped around the crank mostley but is afraid to break it if he just yanks it off. I haven't been able to check it out myself but is there some trick to getting it off? Or just being really careful when pulling it off? Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can let him know and he can finally finish that job.
