I have a licoln continental 97 that is running hot. I have replaced all of the hoses, a fan motor, water pump, and thermostat. The car sensor is showing that it is hot and the water is actually hot when I run it with the new thermostat. When I run it without the thermostat I can ride a long time and the car sensor does not show hot and the water is not hot. The fans are coming on at the right time so I do not think it is the relay sensor. I see no evidence that the head gasket is leaking. The thermostat that was on the car was a low temperature (178) and the new one is the only one they had and it is 188. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening? Could it be the difference in the low temperature theromostat?
