2002 Ford Explorer - 46,000 mi.
Two questions: Changed the brakes at 40k. Brake pads were correct size/match to OEM. Low mileage lately, but notice light scale on rotors. Now, after winter in PA, the rotors are badly rusted, uneven and delaminating at the circumference. Is this typical for Explorers. Is there a safety bulletin or recall?
Second, I can get the rear rotors loose, but not all the way off. Seems like the parking brake is binding up. (Brake was released when attempting) Is there a trick to getting is off or should I get a bigger hammer?
