Car is a Ford Mondeo. Not sure whether you have that in the US. I have had an overheating problem. Engine temperature soared very suddenly to near to maximum gauge. Assumed cylinder head gasket "blown" (thick brownish sludge in water reservoir etc). Next day checked engine and water reservoir appeared to have drained (assumed water escaping into engine bore). Then to my surprise, the day after I find the water reservoir has water in it again! Started engine (started first time) but moisture apparent in exhaust even though air temperature not particularly low. Ran for ten minutes idling. Temperature did not rise appreciably. Revved engine. Temperature did rise quite quickly but returned to normal within a few moments. Fan came in OK when temperature about 50% gauge. BUT, air apparently bubbling up through reservoir and pressure building in reservoir. Was my initial diagnosis correct or is this just a stuck thermostat or something?
have the same problem?
