I have a 1994 Mustang GT (5.0L), manual with about 120,000 miles. About a month ago, the low coolant light came on and I checked under the hood and I didnt see any leaks and the reservoir was almost empty. I turned the car on and revedd the engine and the small hose from the water pump to the engine was dripping lots of coolant. We replaced that hose its no longer leaking. But now, it keeps loosing a lot of coolant still; theres no leaks anywhere. The exhaust smells a bit like coolant, there no white smoke coming from it and it drips some water that has a bit of blackness in it, and also drips a bit from the muffler. The engine temp has always been in the normal range. Is the head gasket going bad? The transmission almost makes like a gear whine in first gear. I was told that was normal?

Do you
have the same problem?

Sounds like the head gasket. Do a compression test. That will confirm it.
