Engine Cooling problem
2004 Ford Freestar 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 58,800 miles

I have my temp gage replaced along with a sensor to my fan that cools the engine. I have since had problems with it and at random times, the gage will move. Sometimes it will go back right away other times it is like a minute before it will go back where it should be. Mechanics have told me that this is normal and it does move and the fan should run on high because it is cooling the engine. I have never heard my fan before and I can feel and hear it kick off. I just need to know what step I can take next.
