Every since purchase date this truck has had extremly tight steering. Just recently while driving the steering wheel locked up and I had to jerk it very hard to continue steering. It did this twice before I got it home. Is it something that I can fix or do I need to take it to a shop for repair and what could the problem be. Further Information on steering colum I have cruise control wiper control I am afraid if I tear into it I might cause more problems than I can handle. Some one told me that I could be getting in over my head if I tackle it without having some Idea what the problem is. I'm afraid that continued driving might cause it to lock up and not release and cause a wreck.
Thanks : PT

Check the lubricant in the steering box, then if that is not it, and check the key cylinder.
