1997 Ford F250 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 115K miles
Hello. This is the old (1996) style F-250.
About a year ago the brake pedal stopped retuning and the truck continued to slow until I pulled the pedal up with my foot. The rear brakes were fine, and I replaced the front discs. The problem seemed to be fixed until a few days ago.
When I hit the brakes the truck slows fine, but the pedal remains a bit down, does not return to the top, and the truck continues to slow.
I'd like to fix it myself (dealer wanted $600). Any ideas? Master cylinder, booster? I think there is another valve somewhere. Not sure its name or where it is (proportioning valve?).
Thanks very much.
