1992 F150 super 4x4 5.8L, when I accelerate up and past 55 it don't go into OD unless I let off gas, and then when it does it goes in hard, I currently have an issue with the shift cable, but I wouldn't think those are connected? Any idea? Is there an easy way to tell if it is an AOD or E4OD. Thanks in advance

I can't give real good advice for this, but here is what I found. Has the tranny oil been changed lately? My shifts hard also. I noticed the overdrive clutch is slipping. The cable should be taken off at the trans and check if it has a free pin fit when the shift lever is moved into each gear. I start at neutral. A basic repair manual can show a good photo.

Hope this helps.
