HI, I have a 96 Ford F150, 4X4, Auto, 5.0L with dual tanks and 178000 miles. It has 2 main problems.
1. It starts and runs great when cold but when I try to start it hot it will chug ( almost like it's flooded? ) Then suddenly smooth out and run fine after a few seconds. Can the fuel pumps cause this( just a guess)?
2. Once warmed up it shifts very hard from 1st to 2nd and then shifts fine into 3rd and OD. I replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and the transmission gear sensor ( or whatever it was called ). It mainly happens when I accelerate slowly and never if I accelerate quickly ( why I thought it might be the TPS ).
Any help on either of these would be greatly appreciated.
have the same problem?
