I have a 1999 f-150 5.4 triton v8 4x4 that won't start I have changed the starter cylinoide on the fire wall charged the battery checked to hear if the fuel pump is working it is. I think the fuel filter isn't leeting fuel pass how do I check this

Roger on spark! A SMALL shot of fuel SHOULD, at minimum, Cough and Spit. I don't know what you have done, so I'mma throwin' stuff. Move distributor from one extreme to the other (and in the middle too) While attempting to crank (a shot of fuel might help, after attempting it one cycle). Let me know if you get even the slightest "Want To". If so, and you are at an extreme (CW or CCW), we might can lift the distributor up and move it a tooth so that you have more range in that direction (I can talk you thru that, tweaking the oil pump is involved). Before, you said it ran, when you went for the timing light--Describe Well, exactly how it was chugging along. Smooth, wanting to die. Extremely low RPMs. Loping. Etc?-Now that you have had ample time to forget--You and a buddy verify you have the Firing order correct and in the correct directionThe Medic

Alright doc put a screw driver in the carb to hold the butterfly open and put the pedal to the floor. She wants to start but wont, im figuring the dang things flooded. I pulled the plugs, yupp nuttin but fuel on em. Got any idea's on dryin the cylinder short of lightin a lighter at the mouth of the spark plug holes

Screwdriver down the throat is not a good thing. Holding pedal to floor is best way to suck the fuel on thru. Or let it sit. Answer about how it was running, when it was running? What about the Twisting of the distributor CW and CCW while attempting the start. I know you hate this. But Imma gonna ask you to get a "SPIT"--#1 spark plug hole--Rotate the engine, by hand--Clockwise, as viewed from the front, till your timing mark lines up on Zero (TDC), this should occur in less than 1/2 a crankshaft rotationThen I want you to trace down #1 wire to its position on the tower of the distributor cap---Make a mark, center of #1's tower, BUT Make the Mark on the Distributor Body, below that towerRemove the Distributor Cap. IS THE ROTOR BUTTON TIP CENTERED ON THAT MARK? I KNOW YOU HAVE BEEN SCREWING WITH THIS--AND IT AIN'T MAKING SENSE.I KNOW HOW IT IS TO TUNE OUT OTHER STUFF IN YOUR MIND, AND BE DEAD SET ON SOMETHING---I REALLY WANT TO READ YOUR "SMILE" AND HEAR, "IT'S ALIVE". SO HUMOR ME, PRINT THAT OFF, DO IT STEP BY STEP (NOT BY MEMORY)---GIVE ME RESULTS. THANK YOU!---THE MEDIC

Alright doc I went and got an inline spark tester and a digital multi tester. And if me just now leads u to belive I have no idea how to use the multi tester, u would be right. What and where would u like the first readings.

POS SIDE OF COIL (KIND DON'T MATTER IF YOU TEST NEG TOO, SINCE POS SIDE SHOULD HAVE THE MOST VOLTAGE.I HAVE PREPARED MYSELF FOR YOU. MONTHS AGO! HERE'S A PIC. SET YOUR METER ON NEXT NUMBER UP FROM 12 VOLTS DC (NORMALLY AROUND 20) BLACK LEAD ON BATTERY NEG POST--RED ON THE COIL POS. READ METER. DO NOT SET IT ON OHMS AND TEST VOLTAGE, YOU WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER METER! AND WE NEED OHMS TO DO OTHER TESTS MAYBE. ALSO 25 ELEVATED RANGER PUSH-UPS ARE IN ORDER FOR EVEN CONTEMPLATING A DISARMAGE--THE MEDIC

Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 81000 miles

I have a 2002 4.6L F150 4WD. On Hot days after driving the truck if I stop somewhere and go inside for around 30 minutes when I come back out and try to the start the truck it wont start. It will turn over just fine and seems like its starved for fuel. Then if I let the truck sit for a few hours, it will start right up like there was never a problem. It only does this on HOT days, never seems to a problem on cooler days. There is no Check Engine Light on, or anything else that alerts to some kind of problem.
