1998 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 175000 miles
Our 1998 F-150 refuses to start. It cranks but no fuel is being pumped to the engine. We replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pump. It started and ran that day, then back to the same problem. When we check for fuel from the pump, it gives a quick spurt of fuel then the pump immediately shuts off. We have checked the fuel relay by replacing it with a similar relay that works, but the problem is still the same. Is there anything that would cut power to the fuel pump. Please help.
Sounds like a sensor or pcm problem. The best tool a person can have is a Haynes repair manual. I get one for every vehicle I own at my local Autozone for about 20 bucks. You would be surprised at what you can do with the aide of one of these books.
