Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

my truck will be going down the road and all of the sudden it will bog down pop. When I press the gas it will take off and run sometimes it will do it again and sometimes it wont. Also iam not getting any fire to my 4x4 switch on the dash

Check / clean all electrical connections. Replace fuel filter. Check / replace the fuel pump & EEC relays - they're known to have intermittent problems. If that doesn't solve the problem, check the fuel pump(s). I believe your setup is basically the same as my van - a low-pressure " lift" pump inside the gas tank & a high-pressure main pump on a frame rail. Normally the pumps either work or they don't, but a bad connection could cause an intermittent problem.
