Engine Performance problem

I have a unique problem with my F-150. I have a recouring problem with fluid leaking, dripping or somehow getting into the #7 spark plug well. My mechanic originally thought that the coolant tube that comes out of the engine near there had a pin hole leak that was repaired and solved the problem for a while. Next time the condition returned, it was discovered that the clamp on the hose in the same area had worked a bit loose and was drippping coolant into the well. Fluid blown out, clamp tightened, new hose installed, problem solved for awhile. Now, the problem is not coolant but rain water leaking into the well from the cowling in the firewall just above the clynider. This is driving me nuts. Somebody, anybody ever heard anything like this before or have any ideas?
