Ok, my truck 4.6 L, started showing that it was running hot about a week ago. Not if I drove slowly, just only as I accelerated or went up a hill. I don't believe the truck is actually getting hot, because when it shows that's it's in the red I can still touch the manifold or head and it's not that hot. Anyways, I was told to change the temperature sending unit, and today I did, but instead of showing hot it's like it's not showing any heat at all and stays below the bottom line. Do I need to change the other temp. Sending unit that sends the info to the ecu? I have already purchased it but it doesn't have the plastic connector part attatched to it, just a threaded bolt where it goes. Can I take this plastic connector part of the old one and put it on the one I bought? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm kinda of stuck.
