I got a 1988 ford f-150 with the 4.9 that just died on me. It is getting fuel but I cant get the coil to sprak. Both terminals on the coil are getting juice(white/ light blue wires, and green/yellow wire) but the coil wont spark. I am aware that it is probaly not getting ground. But don't know where to test for that as there are only 2 wires on the coil and both are hot.

Thanks for any help possible.

I am not totally sure, but I am pretty positive that the coil gets its ground from the casing that mounts it on to the block/ frame. It sounds to me that you have a bad coil. Just because its getting power doesn't mean the coil is fully functioning. Electrical components are funny like that. Make sure that the coil is seated tightly. I will check into this more. I still think if you replaced the coil you would be set.
