It ran about 1/2 an hour, pulled up to a stop sign and died. Haven't been able to start it since. Won't jump. It doesn't get fuel to the filter or line. I've replaced both the filter and the fuel pump. It is getting a spark and cranking, but won't run. Checked the fuel shut off valve by the firewall and the fuses. All ok. Sprayed ether in throttle body. Nothing. Has spark on number 1 cylinder. Had been running fine up to this point. Has plenty of fuel. Any ideas?

Hello,

Did you check the Fuel Inertia Switch? It is located under the driver dash above brake pedal.

Haven't checked the fuel inertia switch. Where can I find a diagram of where it is and what it looks like?

Found a diagram of a 1987 Ford Bronco. It is a button that clicks and stays down? If so, it does!

I can't find a diagram of the location. It is a black box about 3 x 3 x 1/2 or 3 x 2 x 1/2 and there is a red reset switch I usually on the side of it.

Ok, you still aren't getting fuel to the fuel rail right. Have you checked to see if you have power at the fuel pump connection.

Have you check the timing? Bring the #1 cylinder to TDC then remove cap and see if rotor is pointing to the #1 tower.

Also have you check the compression?

If you have someone that can help you would make it little easier.

First pull the #1 plug and remove the coil wire. So vehicle doesn't start accidentally.

Then if you can look down into the cylinder, using a flashlight, have the person in the drivers seat just quickly turn the key to engage starter. Have them keep doing it till you see the piston at the very top. It may take a few times of watch to get an idea of were the top would be. You'll be pretty close even if the piston has just started going down. Oh, also one thing I forgot to mention it has to be on the compression stroke and to determen that you can just plug the plug hole with your finger and when you feel air pressure you will be on the compression stroke then just watch piston till gets to top.

Also, you said it has spark what color is the spark. It should be Bright Bluish/White. If it is Orange the spark is weak and your vehicle won't start.
