Traction control problem

I just bought a 2006 Ford Explorer 4 wheel drive. On the way home the traction control light came on, then it started hesitating when I pressed on the gas peddle.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a front axle bearing that is going out which houses the ABS sensor. This will cause the ABS light to come on and the car to catch and hesitate.

I recently changed my spark plugs and I soon noticed my advtrac light is on. Could I have bumped or disconnected anything or is this unrelated? I worked in a GM dealership and still do my own work. What should I look for or is this a dealer only fix? Thank you, Scott Berger.

Yes, this happens when you have a front ABS wheel speed sensor that is out. You can scan the system to see which one it is or just look for the one that got disconnected during the job.
