Engine Performance problem
1998 Ford Ecosport 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 55,000 miles
I'm fixing a 98' 2.0 sohc Escort for my friends wife, it has 55,000 orig. Miles on it. Her father gave her the car after he ran it out of oil. They took it to some one who misdiagnosed the timing belt. Upon inspection I descovered #4 valve seat dropped & bent the rod & destroyed the piston. I rehoned the cylinder, replaced; piston, rod & rings & corrected the timing. After this found out e.C.M was also shot, replaced it & the car's running better but sluggish & irregular idle, took off the air tube at the throttle body but left the censors connected & it ran great but when I disconnect any 1 of the 3 censors it died, has a good air filter. Do you know what this problem could be?
have the same problem?
