Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Ford E-Series Van 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 178, 00 miles

My vehicle uses about a qt. Of oil a week. It has over 180,000 miles on it. It's always run fine until now. Today it suddenly started making a loud knocking noise when I was on the freeway. The noise is definitely coming from the engine. I was about a quart low on oil, but nothing unusual. It knocks as soon as I start the engine. It starts fairly well, and seems to run good. The knocking gets louder & faster as I accelerate. You think this could be a bent push rod? . Thank you, Dave

A bent pushrod makes more of a clicking or ticking sound. A knocking sound indicates a road or crank bearing.
