Transmission problem
1996 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

I took my car to Auto-Zone to have the van scanned free and this is the reading that came out (ob1-mechanical condition-solenoid stuck(ob2-Internal transmission problem)
The prblem is won't shift from low to drive unless I go about 20 or more miles per hr. And let go of the gas pedal then it will shift everything will be fine until I go under 20 miles per hr. Then I will have to repeat the steps as before.
The check engine light is on and I believe thats why.
I don't know what a shift solenoid is or where it is located does anybody know? Is this a serious problem? Will it cost a lot to repair? Can I fix it myself?
I will appreciate any information.

Do you
have the same problem?

The shift solenoid is located under the trans filter. You could replace it. It is the only electronic part you will see. The part shouldn't be too expensive.
