2006 Ford 500 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 43987 miles
I bought the 2006 Ford 500 new on 12/30/2005. I began having transmission issues. Revving rpms, jerking, etc. I took it to the Ford dealership and was quoted 1800 + for a Main control assembly(1410 part and 400 labor). I think the mileage is awfully low to be having transmission issues. The warranty was 36 months/36,000 miles and I was told my the Service Manager that the powertrain warranty did not start until 2007 models, and may have covered this issue. As this car is no longer manufactured, do you think I have any recourse in calling the Ford home office looking for them to pay for this? Is this a fair price and should this issue occur at such low mileage? Please advise as soon as possible.
