Whole distributor unit has needed to be replaced three times in the past year on this vehicle. Eagle 2000 GTX What would cause this?

Which part of it goes bad? electrical, or mechanical, and keep in mind it.s most likley a remanufactured part..

The whole unit has had to be replaced.
First, it wouldn't start, then it would, then it wouldn't. Then you would try to drive it and it wouldn't start again.
This has happened three times. When the whole unit is replaced, car runs awesome for a while. Then it starts happening all over again.
