Explorer XLT. Drives great in the forward gears, but has no reverse. I have check fluids and Tranny fluid is full, but has a slight burnt smell to it. Also the 4 wheel drive low does not appear to be working and not sure if the two are related. When you put it into reverse you can hear it trying to engage and the backup lights come on as if it is going to work, then it just sits there. I do not know how long this has been going on. I just purchased it this after noon and the previous owner said everything was great on it. There is no engine lights on and a diagnostic didn't reveal any issues

Do you
have the same problem?

This be a mechanical failure with in the transmission, best to get this checked out first hand by a trans tech, worst case will be a trans re build.
