When I use the proximity unlock from the driver's side or when I use the door switch, only the driver's side lock unlocks. However, from the passenger side or key fob, all four locks unlock. So when I enter the car with my family, I either have to reach across and unlock the doors or remember to use the fob. Ideas?

Good afternoon,

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view. The door module may be the issue but it needs to be confirmed.

You need a scan tool that can read the door module to verify the signal from the switch is being sent to the module. Then the module sends a signal to the body control module to work the other locks on command.

You can check the fuse I listed but the real check needs to be done with an advanced scan tool.

Snap on Apollo. Top of the line for scan tools and does everything. Very pricey but worth it.

It would be worth having a shop check it for you and at least diagnose the issue.

Thank you for this info ASEMASTER6371, the Snap on tool is a little rich for the use I would have for it. I am guessing a $500.00 to $1,000.00 OBDII reader will not help with this, like the Autel. I appreciate the info. Stay safe.

No, it will not. It is not as advanced as it needs to for this information.

You are welcome.

Always glad to help.

The horn has been randomly going off on. Also, noticed out headlights flicker on and off but when I put it on high beam then back on low they do fine. We changed the horn relay which was fine, then the totally integrated control module which was not. Checked all the wires we could see and find no issues. Not sure where to go from here. Oh and now my windshield wipers turn on when starting and cutting off the vehicle. Also, power locks and windows do not work.

Did you use a new TIPM or a used one?
Have you tested the front control module, it is bolted to the front of the TIPM. It controls most of the items you're having problems with. Also, check the grounds next to them. If they fail you get various problems as the control voltages start fluctuating.

The other issue could be odd data on the CAN buss. That takes a break out box and analyzer to look at.
I would take a look at the data on the buss and off a good scan tool and see what is being commanded to do what.

Also check the actual power distribution center, they fail a lot as well.
Hard to do much of that testing without a scan tool that let's you watch or command the various modules though.

Thank you Steve for your reply! The TIPM was from eBay so used. I have to say before we put that one in all that was wrong was the horn and lights flickering then once we put in the new used TIPM the vehicle would not start. So we put the old on in and it started right up only to notice the windshield wipers went off on start and shut off of the motor. Also all of the sudden the power windows and locks stopped working as well. We have checked the ground wires but honestly not sure we could be missing something. I think we will invest in a scan tool right now that looks cheaper then some possible fixes on this thing!

Do not rush into buying a scan tool until you decide how far you want to go in DIY repairs. The tool needs to be able to view live data and watch as items are controlled, most of the lower priced ones don't do that very well.
Get a copy of the factory service manual. There is a copy online free at allcarmanuals (only Jeep they have!) It has a lot of tests you can do with simpler tools and gives you an idea of what else you need.

Plus you can always ask here.

Interior lights stay on while driving and the driver door is the only one that locks automatically. I have to cut lights off with dimmer switch and then there are no lights on the panel to see speedometer at night.

Started my car leaving the office today. Took me a while to notice my dome lights wouldn't shut off. All the lights were on, and the only way to turn them off was to turn the dial on my headlight arm to the lowest setting before shutoff. This obviously dimmed everything in the car to the minimum.

Shortly after, I realized that my automatic windows and locks were not working, and the lights on these panels were not lit up. I did not check doors beyond the driver side.

My radio was on and working fine. My car started fine. The doors lock and unlock with the fob. I drove to work this morning and did not notice this. Seemed to come out of nowhere.

Hello,

It sounds like the drivers door module is out which is common. Here are diagrams below to help you fix it. I does not say you will need to have it programmed so it should self initialize. If not it should cost about $130.00 to have it done at a shop. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens. Cheers, Ken

Thank you, Ken!

By module, you mean the entire power switch console? If so, part 5JM60DX9AB is what I found. Would hate to buy this part, for $200.00, only to find it's not the issue. But, I guess that's the name of the game.

Yep, that's why the guys in the dealer have an advantage they install the parts and then put them back if they don't work. Let me know. :)

The issue has been resolved, by simply replacing the module. I purchased an OEM part for $55.00. Removed the door panel, replaced the unit, put'er back together and everything works just fine.

Only issue is, all but two clips broke. These were likely the original clips. I will replace these in due time. For now, the panel is on there good enough.

Thank you, Ken! You saved me some money!
