Does not shift into second gear

Once the car heats up and you drive for a while it wont shift into second gear. If you stop for lights or if you turn it off for a short time and restart it, it will just stay in first
and the speedometer will stay at zero. Sometimes it will start going eventually, but other times it has to be shut down and not driven for a little while before it will drive regular again. Do you know what is causing this problem?

Hi DARLEEN,

First I would check the fluid level, then it sounds like the vehicle speed sensor VSS is going out.
