Oil pressure sensor

Four cylinder front wheel drive automatic 202,002 miles.

I have a 2.4 liter engine. I just changed the oil and filter and the dipstick shows full. The engine runs great but when it drops down to idle the engine oil light comes on solid or sometimes flickers. Can you please tell me where the oil pressure sensor is located so I can replace it? It has never done this before and I have always changed the oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.
I have always used Quaker State 5W30 this is what the book calls for. I used a Wix #51348 oil filter.
The engine is running great but when I come to a stop at idle the oil light comes on only when it is idling. As soon as I apply gas the light goes off.
Please can you help me?

Is this near the firewall or facing the front of the car?
If I am facing the front of the car where would I find it? Is it close to the oil filter? I really need a little more info please.

Standing in front of the car it would be on the left side normally they are close to the oil filter. Not really familiar with this engine just using my software no picture available, do not really know if it is a transverse engine. If its a transverse engine facing the timing cover it should be on the right side of the engine. Sorry

Facing the front of the car the timing cover is on the left side on the right side is the transmission.
So where would it be? So appreciate you helping me!

The timing cover and belts face to the left side of the car the passenger side.

Okay, on the firewall side will it be close to the oil filter or where I really had trouble finding it.
The pictures you posted looks exactly like the one they showed me at O'Reilly's Auto Parts.

Facing the belts on the passenger side of the car not in front of the vehicle the switch is going to be on the left side of the engine firewall side.

The engine oil pressure switch is located on the right side of the engine block (the firewall side). You will have to gain access to it from underneath the vehicle. The switch screws into the engine main oil gallery it s probably covered by a heat shield.

Looking at the picture below its gonna be at the firewall side towards the front of the engine block near the timing belt

I replaced the oil pressure sensor switch today. It was located where you indicated. Just about in the middle of the block on the firewall side, had to access it from underneath the car. Old one was leaking out of the plastic end. Mine had the green colored connector. The hardest part was getting that off. I went and purchased the new sensor and also had to purchase a oil sensor socket to remove and install no other way to get it out. I installed the new one as close as I could to match how many threads were showing on the old one. I did not know how far to screw it in, but I did position it in the same place as the old one once I felt it getting snug. I cleaned the green connector and attached it to the new sensor with the small red clip you have to remove to get the connector off. After doing a test drive the oil light does not come on at idle.
This fixed the problem. I just hope I have it screwed in far enough. Thanks so much 2carpros for your immediate help and doing the very best to answer all my questions. Many thanks!
