I have a 1991 dodge ramcharger with a 318 with a automatic transmission mileage is unknown because the odometer stopped workin at 194k, well I boughtthe truck from a car lot the guy who sold it to me told me that reverse would work you just had to rev up the motor to get it to pull, well come to find out there is no reverse it seems like, it just makes a loud whining noise and it sounds like the torque converter is hitting something and I checked and all the bolts are tight and everything, well I was dirivng down the road one day and in 4th gear it started making the same noise but still pulls in 4th, sometimes it takes it a little while to change out of 1st when the transmission is cold when you first start driving it everyday, I had a guy I no tell me that I can pull the transmission out and pull the bellhousing off and check to see if the pin that hold the gear in has worn down n stretched, because if your in reverse and you hit a bump it will somtimes catch reverse after rolling backwards and I was wondering what could this be, and how easy could this be to fix, im not sure what kind of transmission it is I no its a aftermarket transmission but all help would be appreciated
