A flapper in the heater assemble broke and fell down to the fan. I nned to get access to remove a switch to replace the broken flapper that is splined on one end. What, how do I get to it is is high up in the top of the dashboard area. What will happen if I do not replace the broken flapper?

Basically, you need to remove part of the dash board to access the area. Not a fun job. Remove the glove box, then you will start seeing the retaining screws that hold the dash in place.

NOTE: Because the vehicle is equipped with a passanger side air bag, you must disconnect the battery and allow the vehicle to sit. I recommend it sits for at least 30 minutes before working around the air bag.
